A little catch-up of the last week or so...

There hasn't been much to post about lately. Stu watches his YouTube videos, I play games on my iPad. At night we watch the latest mystery mini-series or movies (most of our network shows are on hiatus). Then we go to bed, perchance to actually sleep. Our latest TV enjoyment has been watching the following:

Peacock: All Her Fault
NetFlix: His and Hers, Run Away, Broadchurch
Prime: Steal, Greenland

We did manage a movie run to Cookeville to see the sequel to Greenland - Greenland: Migration. What a dissapointment! Don't waste your money.

Things quickly changed the end of the week, along with the weather forecast for this weekend. Snow, ice, sleet, rain followed by more snow, ice, sleet, rain. It was time to get ready. With the generator prepped, battery charged and multiple propane tanks, that took care of power outages. Off to the grocery store. We hadn't been in a couple of weeks so the cart was over $300 when we checked out Thursday night. We worried about outages but only had two items that were substituted. Stu said when he got to Walmart at 10am, the pickup slots were full and he had to wait for someone to leave before he could park.

When the snow hit yesterday, it was light and powdery.

Stu used the leaf blower to clear it before it built up too much.

Growing up in New England, I love seeing the snow and watching it build up on the landscape. Especially since I don't have to go anywhere!

The next go-round was too heavy to blow so Stu had to resort to sweeping.

Cooper went out to help.

Stu had filled all the bird feeders in preparation and the birds were happy!

Then the rain started...

It's been raining almost continuously since late last night and since we are in the low 40s now, the snow is completely gone. No worries, right? Wrong! The temps will dip into the single digits overnight and we expect the driveway and deck will become skating rinks (as will many local roads). Good thing we have nowhere to go tomorrow. We do have two appointments on Tuesday but nothing that can't be rescheduled.

Meanwhile, Cooper is happy to lay around chewing on his Yak Cheese Chew stick.

That is when he's not chasing some small wild animal in our yard.

Ciao for now!

Search for a unicorn... [for the ladies]

Purse, that is.

Over the years I have had dozens, multiple of dozens of purses, each for a specific use. In retirement that hasn't changed but I have slimmed my collection down quite a bit (donated a lot of them, all in like new condition, to our local women's shelter). Most recently I realized the one purse I thought was perfect (and yes, I bought it in two colors, light brown/cedar and black) wasn't working with the new case I had bought for my iPad Mini 7. It worked, barely, without a case, but no more. My other daily purse worked but it was open, no zipper. Being a senior klutz, that wasn't working any more.

Elvira has entered the building...

A little rock crawler we saw on our drive.

Stu has been working on fixing a leak in the cooling system of the Jeep, one that appeared after he changed out the antifreeze (which required him to remove the front bumper - EEK). He's been so patient with the process and the amount of time and parts runs that have been required.

A little New Year's Day fun!

We had a quiet day today, especially since I slept in to make up for less than five hours of sleep the night before). The weather was almost spring-like but not warm enough to sit outside. So, I did laundry. LOL! But not before I got a few photos from the deck.

Wow! 2026 already...where did 2025 go?

The last year really flew for us - so much life, so little time. Oh well, on to a new year! Hoping it's a good one for everyone.

Ciao for now!
